I can't believe that I am writing about another earthquake and it has barely been two weeks since the Christchurch earthquake rocked New Zealand and the world. This time Japan has been hit by a massive 8.9 earthquake which quickly produced a devastating tsunami which has affected coastal Japan and much of the Pacific coastline.
I am not a religious person but my thoughts and prayers and good vibes are going to all the people of Japan, a country that I love though I have yet to visit.
Before the rest of the world goes on about the whole 2012 phenomenon please stop and think about how those who've survived these events feel. Spreading these kinds of silly stories does nothing to help those who have gone through all this. This is a sad time but it also brings out the best in many people. Images from Japan show shop assistants helping customers out of the store, making sure that stock doesn't fall on them.
Then there is the brilliance of social media sites like Twitter which seems to bring the news to those who don't watch regular news sites and so on. The amount of well wishers and retweets of donations sites is astounding and heart warming. I know for a fact that just the simple fact that so many people care is a big support.
Anyway, I can't say much without repeating myself and there are professional news reports that can give you more detailed information. All I can say is that my thoughts and peace vibes are going to Japan and to anyone going through the hard times presented by this or any of the recent earthquakes that have rocked the world.
